TASK 01
Make & order the PCB
Get the three JLCPCB files, check assembly, and request a quote.
You need
- Carrier without Luckfox selected
- JLCPCB account for your quote
You’ll have
Gerbers + matching BOM/CPL ready for a reviewed prototype quote.
You can prepare a quote now. Assembly qualification, LCD fit and physical testing still need review.
Download JLC order files ↓Open JLCPCB quote ↗Gerbers + BOM + CPL · 2 layers · 1.6 mm · ≈137.86 × 52.04 mm
Choose bare PCB or assembled carrier
- Bare PCB: upload Gerbers; you assemble the 43 fitted parts.
- Assembled carrier: upload Gerbers + BOM + CPL. Default files omit the Luckfox, LCD, camera and case.
Download the matching order files
- Use this bundle as one set. Do not mix a BOM from the original upstream board with these Gerbers.
- Unzip the order bundle once. Upload the inner shieldsigner-carrier-gerbers.zip to JLC; keep the two CSV files for its assembly step.
- Keep R404, R408 and J302 unpopulated. U202 is excluded; solder-jumper copper is already on the PCB.
Upload Gerbers to JLCPCB
- Start a PCB quote and upload the Gerber ZIP, not the KiCad source ZIP.
- Check the detected outline and two copper layers. The native stackup is 1.6 mm; confirm dimensions against the preview.
- Enable PCB assembly for PCBA. The carrier uses parts on both sides; confirm the quoted assembly service supports them.
Match parts and inspect placement
- Upload BOM/CPL and process both. Expect 43 fitted references across 21 catalog parts.
- Confirm C603/C604 are C28323 (1 µF), U601 is C633309 (UR2), and J401 is C2931360 (top-contact).
- Inspect rotation, bottom-side placement, USB/FPC/card connector orientation and all eight switches in JLC’s assembly viewer. No substitutions without reviewing footprint and electrical compatibility.
Resolve the remaining quote/DFM items
- Ask JLC to review extended switch lands/paste and 2.5 mm actuator height. Verify the enclosure accepts the selected switches.
- Confirm the exact LCD/contact orientation and backlight ratings separately. The screen is outside the PCBA BOM.
- Review stock, assembly preview, DFM and final quote before payment. These files are review-only; no manufactured board has passed bring-up here.
If you change the board, regenerate everything
- Use KiCad 10 and the local libraries. Run these commands from the repo root.
- Inspect the exported preview before using the regenerated order files.
